Speaking of Pacific Northwest railfan paradises -- I was able to get about 30 minutes of quality railfan time today after work at the Vancouver, Wash. depot, and got six trains in those 30 minutes: A long UP baretable going into the Port of Vancouver with an SD70M/SD9043AC combo, Amtrak Cascades 507 and 508, an eastbound BNSF manifest coming off the Seattle Sub to head east up the Columbia River Gorge, and two long BNSF intermodals on the Fallbridge Sub, one in each direction. If the total number of trains is down due to the economy, it wasn't evident here.
