And the Pasco/Hinkle comparison to Spokane/Sandpoint misses the point. All trains through Sandpoint, except for UP's Sandpoint-based locals and POVA's daily turn, actually run to, from, or through Spokane as well. UP trains through Hinkle do not run through Pasco, not even those via the Ayer Sub to/from Spokane. BNSF does have a Low Line local out of Pasco that runs to Ayer and back on the UP, and there are other locals bouncing between Wallula and the Tri Cities complex, but that's about it.
