My former neighbor in Sacramento was a very successful independent contractor for two very large companies for many years.
Then December 2019 both companies let him go.
Out of work for about 3 months, turned down for pandemic assistance, no one would hire him because of his age, so things were looking rough.
One of the two businesses moved during the covid shut down to Tulsa Ok. and they offered him the same deal, so he moved there.
He is still there, doing better than here and his insurance and taxes are lower.
If AB5 goes national not sure what he or the company would do.
I read stories on Google about many who were ruined by AB5, and the numbers will go 10 fold if it goes national.
