The segment of that video does NOT explain how a war on coal leads to a shortage of diesel fuel.

Oh and, by the way, when the railroads replaced coal burning-steam locomotives with diesel locomotives, a major market for coal was gone in the United States. However, at the time (1950s) no one accused the railroads of waging a "war on coal."
