Sorry to disappoint you, but IAIS is all Dark TWC Territory, with a current 45 MPH for Passenger Trains. Yes, IAIS does have a Passenger Train Speed. No PTC either. IAIS and the State of Illinois can not come to an agreement on running Passenger Trains over and on the IAIS. Bob Johnston from Trains Magazine says,"Any proposals for Passenger Train Service over IAIS at this time is currently not going to happen". As much as I don't want the IAIS to ever disappear, if there is ever going to be Passenger Service over it, believe it or not, if UP owned it, I think you would see it happen in a timely manner! UP has already informed the State of Illinois, that if an Agreement can not be reached between the State, CP and Metra for the Rockford State Passenger Service, then UP has agreed to let them use their Geneva Subdivision between Tower A2 and CN JB Tower in West Chicago and the Belvidere Subdivision between there and Elgin for Rockford Passenger Trains. The part from Elgin to Belvidere on the Belvidere Subdivision and the Rockford Industrial Lead had already been approved by UP from the start. This is disappointing, as the President of the IAIS is a big huge Railfan!
