Espee borrowed the Radio Controlled equipment ( including the lead unit on the train ) to test RCE possibilities over Tehachapi Pass. This would lead to purchase of RCE equipped SD-40-T-2 " Master & Remote " units, after the tunnels were wired for better remote reception.
