At one time I worked for a company where the president (and majority owner) would criticize the work of the ladies on the assembly line to the point where some of them would cry. This eventually resulted in a union vote in a very non-union area. The vote was a tie, which means you keep the status quo. But things got better after that as the vice president kept watch and the president finally let the lower level managers do their job.
