The Nevada Comstock Railroad Memorabilia Show, July 11, 2009, will be held at the Virginia City Middle School Gym, 127 South D St., at Taylor St., Virginia City, NV. & open to the public 9am-4pm. There are several reasons for putting on this show: There are an untold number of railroad fans/collectors in the area who are interested in railroads and not having but one Nevada RR show in decades, it seems a good time to educate more of the public about the RR memorabilia side of railroading and the history behind it, to bring the public to the Nevada Comstock see the railroad & mining history, open up a new RR show now that the June Sacramento, CA. show will no longer be, and introduce dealers who havn't been to RR CA. & NV. shows before. So far dealers from 6 Western States will be selling.
The Virginia & Truckee RR will also be running a Sesquicentennial Train the same weekend. The V&T bridge is now completed over Hwy. 50 at Mound House and the tracks are supposed to be there this summer.
