Poor policies and a lack of accountability...?

A complete lack of focus on the customers...?

Some work is being done to fix it, but clearly not enough...

And NO, just throwing more money at it to run crappy services poorly, is not the answer (as it always is for those who offere uncritical support the CAHSRA fiasco regardless of the incompetence)...

The elimination of the Rapid buses during the incompetently planned MTA Covid "restructuring" alone cost 100,000 daily riders... And MTA continues to offer terrible rail service plans for the new connections that make no sense from a user perspective. Poor planning, poor decision making, and almost no accountability, regardless of the level of failure (like losing 700,000 riders on MTA since 2014) seems, nowadays, to be rated "superior" management performance, based on the performance increases in executive compensation..

Improved visible law enforcement, providing real security and safety, and more frequent services (hopefully restored on a better planned route structure) would do the most to improve ridership based on my most recent observations.
