I hate to tell you this but even in this grandly civilized, automated and cyberhyped area just south of Silicon Valley we cannot get any of the above. We either have dialup (yes, we have ATT land line and cell phone) but no DSL except that provided by Redshift (which our neighbor happens to own), no Verizon, Comcast, ATT cable, internet etc. We can only get Charter Cable tv (the company from hell) with limited channels (less than 50) or Dish or DirectV satellite. We can't even get Charter's internet access here. We call it the "black hole of Prunetucky". Our DSL is wireless from our neighbor's house. His company, Redshift, provides these services all over the state etc in just such situations as ours. We have friends who live in very upscale Los Gatos overlooking Silicon Valley and can only get dial-up thru Earthlink. I don't know where Espee99 lives but I sympathize with his plight. :-)

PS--our new neighbor is a Silly Valley techhie exec whose company deals all over the world and he too is held hostage by Redshift for his telecommuting internet access.
