DBA, thanks for sharing this picture. I knew Joe and Kenny, sorry to hear both of them are gone. Bill Farmer always told me, he would never work for any Railroad, even if they assigned him a Passenger car for his use, he said that it wasn't worth it in any circumstances. I also think he enjoyed the freedom he had, that he wouldn't have had on the RR. Yes, Bill could put together almost anything when it came to a gathering or show of Rail Equipment. Back in the early 1970s, Bill was Chief Mechanical Officer of Pacific Railroad Society's Private Cars, and did better than any Passenger RR CMO in our opinions. However, in the late 70's, he was.out of town on.a Train Trip to Mexico and PRS made a Private Car related decision without contacting him to get his approval. This made him upset and he stepped down from the CMO position after that and he only helped out the club on occasion. After that, the private cars and the Club went down hill.
