A Smaller Version Of Hinkle, OR

I heard that when Hinkle Yard was being built, a working small scale train layout of the proposed operations was created to familiarize UP employees with yard functions. Is this true? WOW!

The layout was supposedly in a boxcar, or coach, and set up on site for reference and training. If this is correct, maybe the scale would be about 1:160 (N-scale) or 1:220 (Z-scale).

What kind of rolling stock was the scaled down yard built in, and whatever happened to it? -That is, if it really did happen.
