There are no trainmen shown in this photo... Those are switchmen...

Don't recognize anyone... And/but it could even be me in the cab...?

It's a switching job likely coming around the wye and across Mission and the AT&SF from the lower end of the Bull Ring/Links headed toward the Shops, or maybe down the UP to J yard, the UP, or the LA Jct...? The interchange jobs usually had two SD-7's, and it doesn't look like Shops traffic, so my guess would be a daylight hauler to the J yard down at 25th and Alameda, next to PE Butte Street (now where the Alameda Corridor runs).

Back then, a lot of switching traffic from Taylor also went down the "old" mainline through the Bull Ring/Links via LAUPT Mission Tower, to avoid inbound and outbound mainline/road train congestion on the East Bank, between Pasadena Jct. and Dayton Tower.

Nice shot, and great memories of the many times I've been there....
