Yep, sounds familiar...
Doors flapping loose in the breeze were sometime a safety hazard late at night while walking back in the dark to reset a low oil button on the geeps we used as helpers on Beaumont...

And don't kid yourself that you are going to cool down an overheating engine (low oil/low coolant) problem by opening the doors, it's not a '67 Volkswagen Van....
