The NWP north of Cloverdale is stated to become "The Great Redwood trail" (Not just the Redwood trail its going to be great) No room for both a bike path and an operating RR Between Cloverdale and Hopland in the Russian river canyon. The RR is built on a narrow ledge with a steep embankment on the river side and a even steeper cut into the hillside that is subject to sliding. Add the cost of routing through or around five tunnels and it would make no sense to have a combination bike path and operating RR to Willits. And of course we all know how much Union Pacific would love to have some more loose carloads.
