UP starting short haul Phoenix to Long Beach intermodal too

UP will put an imtermodal yard in its dowtnown Phoenix yard. To serve containers from LA Long Beach port. 380 miles. Experts said under 500 miles wasn't practical. But here are two more added by UP. Joining BN, NS, CSX, CN in adding under short haul intermodal.

Houston Barbara's Cut port to Port Laredo is 365 miles. To Dallas intermodal is 250 miles. To Alliance is 300 miles. jUst like out of Savannah and Charleston and Jacksonville and Norfolk and Newark. Or New Orleans to Jackson.
