BNSF’s local works the Alhambra Yard near Grand Ave and Camelback Rd in Phoenix , AZ on April 16, 2009. Shovecar ATSF 999813 has seen better days, but it’s a rare treat to see an actual Santa Fe ‘waycar’ out on the line. (BNSF currently has three shovecars in the Phoenix area due to the heavy industrial switching along Grand Ave and the Ennis Branch.) Of Note: That roof damage to the cupola on 813 was caused by an accidental run-through of a lowered coal tipple in northwest New Mexico in the mid-1990s!
