You, er, Lucid Stew made an error? He says the LA Union Station plan scale back reduced it to 4 through tracks at the station. Reducing to a single track crossing the freeway to head south. Thus 2 trains can't arrive and leave at the same time.

The plan is 4 through platforms. Right there in the graphics. I assume the single track leaving is also an error. Unless they were going to do 1 track per bridge over the freeway.
