What's going on in the Redwood Empire?

I heard that the California Western got some sort of a grant so they can re-open the railroad from Ft. Bragg to Willits. Is this true? I don't believe there's any industry left in Ft. Bragg that generates the type of traffic that could be shipped by rail and the Northwestern Pacific line in Willits is dormant for a variety of reasons.

How much heavy industry is still active in the Redwood Empire that would ship by rail if rail service was available? Where is it located? what does it produce? Wasn't there some big mill in Ukiah? Is Pacific Lumber Company in Scotia trucking everything to the UP in Redding? Is there anything active in the Eureka-Samoa area?

Does the area just produce marijuana now? Is the CWRR going to just be a taxpayer-supported tourist railroad?
