WSDOT and EWG have reached an agreement and EWG will remain as the operator of the ex WATCO exx NP CW line, Cheney to Coulee City. EWG also operates the Geiger spur since the new line (bypassing Fairchild AFB) went operational in January. Grain continues to move and FINALLY some steel is moving on the Geiger spur after 3+ months of almost no steel traffic. Trains run as per shipper needs, but there is usually some train movement on the line almost daily, M-F. The contractor is back to finish up tie work which was started last fall but not finished before winter set in. Go to this link for a few recent pictures: EWG 4/23/09
