Both of these engines were part of a batch of ex-SP SD9s that went to the BHP Nevada railway in the late 1990s. After BHP shut down in 1999, they deeded their equipment to the Nevada Northern Railway Museum as part of a lease repayment. NNRM sold three of these, 4412,4418, and
4352 to the Colorado, Kansas and Pacific. I seem to recall that these were scrapped in the late 2000s but I have not been able to find an internet source for this. The railroad museum kept the other two BHP SD9s, one is still there and operates while the other was used for parts and may have been scrapped.
