The BNSF Stampede Sub is in use daily, for E/B Coal & Grain mtys returning to Eastern Washington. Maybe not as glamorous as running double stacks; however this routing does allow for more trains on the Scenic Sub, and the double track main between Portland & Seattle. The Auburn yard also serves as a staging area for those Coal & Grain Loads, until the various customers can handle their cargoes.
