Another ingredient that took away the business travelers were the young, sexy stewardesses being offered by the airlines, while the railroad on-board staff was mostly old black men, some of them with attitudes. Quite a few traveling businessmen ended up marrying stewardesses. The late James Bistline, who was involved in the steam programs for SOU and NS, was one of them.
