Re “Del Mar may create task force to monitor plans for railroad tunnel” (March 4):
SANDAG’s actions to construct a seawall in Del Mar and elsewhere is a crime against nature and the law. The
California Coastal Act mandates protection of the coastal corridor against loss of sand and beaches accessible to the public.
Construction of the wall along the bluff is not aimed at protecting public access to and use of the beach. It is aimed at protecting and enhancing the private property values at the top of the bluff, at a cost of millions and possibly billions of public taxpayer dollars, according to SANDAG.
