The May 2009 issue of Railfan & Railroad magazine has an excellent article by Jeff Terry about the Oregon Pony locomotive, the first steam locomotive in the Oregon Territory and the first steam locomotive manufactured on the West coast.
Add Cascade Locks Oregon (and the Columbia River Gorge) to your summer travel plans and say hello to our oldest preserved locomotive.
