Back in the late 60's an SP lineman had the job of replacing the old writing desk phones in the phone cabinets across the desert with something more modern. He asked his boss what he should do with the old phones and was told to just throw them in the trash. The lineman checked with an antique store to see if they had any value. For a few months he doubled his salary. And if you don't know the term "writing desk telephone", those are those tall wooden telephones with a magneto crank on the side and a place to write on the front.
