Raw plastic pellets (called "nurdles") are leaking from BNSF trains and getting into the ocean and lagoons. Sounds like leaking hopper cars might be the culprit. Maybe they could try different hoppers, like the type used to ship flour?

Nurdles are tiny, petroleum-based lumps about the size and shape of a lentil. Companies produce mass quantities of them and send them to manufacturers in trucks, shipping containers and railroad freight cars.
