Having friends who knew people in the San Francisco government, I got to ride from San Francisco to San Jose on the AFT. Standing on the rear platform was fun.

We left later than planned so we went down the peninsula during commute time. Lots of suits on platforms with hanging jaws. The suits, not the platforms. And as we went through stations you would see kids diving for the tracks to retrieve their pennies. The train manager said that the wheels must be copper plated by now.

The business car had a grandfather clock, with the pendulum tied down during moves.

I later got to see the displays when the train was parked in Oakland. It has been a while.
