Mansfield Branch Display

The town of Mansfield, Washington will celebrate its centennial year at a event June 13 and 14, 2009 and they will feature a display on the GN Mansfield Branch in the museum. The town formed when the GN arrived in 1909.

At last years GNRHS convention many members toured the old line east of Wenatchee, so I have posted on my flickr site some samples of the display panels. Ten panels will be used in all and they will be on display starting in mid-May through year-end. The last panel tells the story of five local people who remember the railroad and may be the most unique of all.

If you get up that way this summer and the museum is not open, all you have to do is stop at the hardware store or the tavern to see if the friendly people of Mansfield can arrange for the museum to be opened for you.

GNRHS, the Sky Historical Society and several individual members have provided information and photos for the display.

The flickr site is at [www.flickr.com]
