For all you young whipper-snappers, go back in your history books (or back issues of railfan magazines) and you'll discover that, many years ago, Amtrak sued SP over horrendous delays involving the Sunset Limited.

Does the Sunset Limited run on time today?

Lawsuits are paper tigers. SP lived long enough to be gobbled up by the Yellow Peril. The lawsuit probably gave Biaginni and Krebs something to laugh about----or use as toilet paper.
