It was a MLACBAR out of the LAJ and the derailment happened on the sharp curve going from the UP San Pedro Branch into the LAJ (Los Angeles Junction Rwy) and actually blocked the UP San Pedro Branch for a short time.

09/02/2024 01:20 am (GMT-0800) | VERNON, Calif. – A train carrying ethanol derailed early Monday morning in Vernon, prompting a hazmat response from local authorities. The incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. in the
4500 block of Pacific Boulevard. Multiple agencies responded, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department,
BNSF Railroad, and the Vernon Police Department.
Several railroad cars derailed, with one car nearly tipping onto its side. There was a strong odor of ethanol in the area, raising concerns about a potential hazardous materials spill. Hazmat crews were at the scene, assessing the situation and working to contain any spillage.
