McCloud River bought the 25 new in 1925, last new steam locomotive the railroad acquired.

Once the Burney celebrations ended the 25 went back to work in the woods until all steam operations ended towards the end of the year, the president at the time talked the board of directors into keeping the #25 around. So this photo was shot sometime between 1955 and 1962 when the mural got painted over before the first railfan excursion of the modern era:

McCloud Railway discovered the mural still exists during their 1995-1997 restoration but did not otherwise fully expose it before repainting it. The 25 operates today on the Oregon Coast Scenic.
