Realistically, Caltrain has a bunch of these F40s. They're ancient, but common - Amtrak and a bunch of commuter lines used (and in a few cases, after rebuilds/upgrades, still use) them.. A museum or 2 might be interested in static displays in CA. But as WRM (Rio Vista) noted they're big and heavy. Rail ($$$$$) shipping would be necessary. I'd question whether the line to WRM is even able to support moving a F40 to the site. In the real world, absent another use for a few of them (such as non-powered Cabbages or platforms for experiments with newer or alternative power systems) exists, they're all going to be scrapped. The steel might appear in a car or structural steel someday, most likely from China.
