For those who have seen the scrappers show up with bolt cutter and steal ten or twenty valuable bikes at a Metro Rail Station and throw them on a truck to sell for scrap...
Finally, someone has apparently finally (after only 20 years of this problem????) figured out what to do about it...

Now, if they install cameras, and have enough folks on duty to actually watch the monitors, to deter folks who might try to use their tap card, and their bolt cutters...? Then maybe, bike thefts will be greatly reduced as another major problem with using a bike to get to Metro...
This was another thing that has been suggested and not acted upon for over 20 years...
We quite often know how things should "work" and/or how to "fix" many of these things, but all too often just don't seem to "care"...
Of course, since the Gold Line is being built by the Gold Line Authority, and not by the LACMTA, that might actually explain this highly professional level of basic "competence"...
