LMAO, at the hypocrisy on this one....
How exactly is it a "waste" of who's money, other than those taking the in the private sector to build it?
Who at UCLA? Brian? As I noted with the SoFi people mover boondoggle that modeling actual demand at this level is utter BS given the bound of error on a single link like this. However, I do note that at this microlevel of absurdity the Dodger skyway at an average of 2.5 persons per vehicle going to Dodger Stadium would carry over 4 times as many riders as the SoFi people mover would.
I actually think that if the area around Dodger Stadium were developed with the right attractions, that the gondolas would become a great tourist attraction just for the great views of the City. Which might just be another reason these "evil" "capitalists" owners of the "evil" Los Angeles Dodgers franchise would be willing to put up their own money?
And wouldn't it be just terrible to develop some of the parking lots, providing housing with views of the City, or by tourism with a Dodgers Museum, or a hotel and some nice view restaurants, all providing jobs and tax revenues, by infilling and using the air rights over the acres of ugly Dodger parking lots?
And I do love it when some of these more idiotic and hypocritical "new urbanist" types who talk about converting parking land uses to housing at outfits like the Sierra Club, hold themselves "hostage" to their guilty political correctness, by a bunch of questionable "community groups" spouting a bunch of crap about housing gentrification, while opposing converting those parking lots to some new housing...
This whole "peoples" "community" groups nonsense sure sounds a lot more like a political shakedown by folks seeing an angle to jerk the "evil" capitalist "swine" McCourt and the "evil" Dodgers franchisee's around.
