White Pass & Yukon #98 Nears Completion of Rebuild
On 8 May 09, Coast Engine and Equipment in Tacoma, WA moved the repainted and rebuilt White Pass & Yukon #98 out of the fabrication building. In this photo the locomotive was being mated to its regular narrow gage trucks. Approximately 100 yards of narrow gage track have been laid at CEECo to test the locomotive. Finishing touches will be made to the unit during the next few weeks. The roof line has undergone some change with the addition a dynamic brake housing and a radiator. WP&Y #90 is still in the fabrication building and may be out in for testing within a month.
