Transit ridership in San Francisco continues to climb, with SFMTA - San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency reaching its highest ridership levels since 2019. Last year, average weekday boardings increased over 10% to 486,000, while weekend ridership rose nearly 6% to 318,000.

Routes like the 49 Van Ness/Mission and 22 Fillmore even surpassed 2019 levels, thanks to Muni’s investments in fast, frequent service, making these lines more reliable and convenient for riders.
