The piece on the DMU dropping its engine on the tracks outside Broardgreen Station in England brought back many memories. Broardgreen Station is where I started watching trains about 1950 when I was 5 years old. The station was right next door to Mr Shaws very tiny grocery
store that my mom used. She would take me to see the station master so I could watch the steam engines on the way too and fro from Lime Street station. I was there a couple of years ago and the wonderful old brick station was gone and had been replaced with something like we call an
AMSHACK.
