Balfour-Beatty dropped more ties today on the way to Petaluma pulling six center-beans, half of which were empty and the other three about half full. Since it couldn't run-around the consist at Petaluma because of track work at the NEW Caulfield Crossing, it shoved the empties back through Novato to the Ignacio Wye. It cut-off on the Schellvile leg and backed up to the Novato Main and reversed direction and headed southbound onto the San Rafael Main and into the Ignacio yard where it cross over onto the San Rafael leg of the wye and then north onto the Schelville main, back thru the switch picked up its train and proceeded to Black Point where it ties up. I believe this could be the first train on the San Rafael main since at least 1993. It will make another trip to Lombard to pick up three more loads of hardwood ties to be distributed from Petaluma to MP. 62. If everything goes well, ballasting on the first portion between Lombard and Schelville could begin as early as late next week.
