This looks like one of those exercises in engineering that never will (or never should) go beyond the speculation stage. Like maglev, it may have an application as an intra-terminal airport peoplemover or connecting a parking area to a dense city-center. But as a viable transportation system, it can only serve to divert attention and resources from projects that can be built in the here and now.
