Best shot of this trip I've seen from the Gorge so far. Anytime you can you can go to a popular location that tends to be shot the same old way by most people (from track level as train exits tunnel) and put forth a bit of extra effort to produce a scene like this, it's time and energy well spent. Wonderfully composed, good light, love that basalt. And just like that shot from Kootenai Falls that made pic of the week at railpictures, the look-down angle makes the Amtrak unit blend right in with the rest of the train; you'd hardly know there's a diesel.
