Today I went to the Mt Rainier Scenic RR shops with a mission. My goal was to document the crews who have been working so hard to restore Rayonier Willamette #2 to operation. All too often the shop crews labor in obscurity while the engine gets all the attention. I wanted to do something about that, and if nothing else, get a few shots to give the crew.
My favorite photo of the day was not your typical 3/4 wedgie. It's a shot of a steam locomotive, but it's an angle that most folks never see. In fact, the average person probably wouldn't even know it was a steam locomotive from the photo. They probably wouldn't know what they were looking at...
I wasn't sure what the Railpictures screeners would make of the image, but it got approved.
