I dont see how UP would ever even discuss this

UPRR has always had a policy of "No trails near active rails" and you cant get any nearer to a active rail then sharing a trestle with a bike/ped access. I believe the liability issues would prevent even preliminary discussions on this topic. And its a little late to ask for a trestle redesign in my view, not to mention youd probably have to do a EIR if you did so since youre no longer replacing a "railroad trestle" but replacing it with a rail/ped/bike structure which was NOT there to begin with. Anyone want to guess how long a EIR for something like this would take to do, or cost?
