World Wide Construction Co. Balfour -Beatty has concluded the tie restoration project on NWP and has started the task of ballasting the 62 miles from Brazos to Windsor.I was over at Lake Schellville today, (Wed.) as the W&P #2503 (Ex SP GP-35) and 9 ballast dumb cars began the slow task of spreading thousands of tons of rock from Syar in Napa. The are moving around 1 1/2 to 2 miles per hour.
The were able to refill the 9 cars 3 times and finished in the vicinity of Fairville curve south of Sonoma Rock Co. Tomorrow train should get them passed the Highway 37 crossing and on their way to Black Point by Friday or first of next week. The ballast and regulaor are working between Brazos and Schelville.
