Quite a few years ago, a model railroad magazine (or maybe "TRAINS") ran a really good atricle on Alameda. I remember that it had pics of the enginehouse, trackage, I even think a detailed map. I procrastinated and finally drove to Alameda in search of the rail activity. To my dismay, I did locate the burned remains of the enginehouse and what I believed were traction motors, also burnt, still marking the site. I drove the streets, following the map, but ultimately left disappointed. The magazine has disappeared, like so many good intentions. I sometimes wonder if the article made it to the www articles, somewhere in Google-land.
