Just out of the frame to the left, is the garbage transload facility, that adds to the 3 or 4 garbage trains a day that leave the Puget Sound.
The yard is indeed compact, so much so that nearly all intermodal trains have to get sent directly to the Muni, or broken in to two or more tracks. Even the "Log" Yard, which is out of frame (upper left) usually can't take anything but a short intermodal with out breaking up the train. Grain trains, either go directly to the Temco facility or get sent to Auburn where the train can be left intact.
