The only "original" station buildings left in downtown Chicago are the waiting room at Union Station, and the Dearborn station building.
Grand Central and the concourse of Union were gone by 1972, when I visited, but La Salle St. and Central were still standing. Northwestern Terminal was still there in 1977.
Englewood is also gone, with just the crossing and junction there, but no station. Looking at the neighborhood around Englewood, I don't think too many people would want get on or off a train there.
