No, they are replacing sections that are worn out, the rebuilt sections are still single track. I remember being under the south end of the bridge in Feb. 08, there were some pretty big holes that had rusted through, and the whole girder section deflected about an inch and 1/2 under a train, which is more than I have seen other bridged of similar length do. I am not sure why they are replacing the concrete pillars with steel pilings, they look to be in great shape from the surface, but of course I can't see them under the water.
