In this context does "light rail" mean heavy (compliant) DMU, or light DMU, or catenary supplied streetcars/EMU? Perhaps "streetcar" is not the correct term as modern light rail seems to be one or two articulated units with three trucks each. I believe the old Key System units were articulated. Modern expressions are SF Muni, Blue Line, Gold Line, Green Line (LA area). Not sure where San Diego/San Ysidro fits.
