Back around '96, 2472 was slated to run under her own steam for lease to the Grand Canyon.
They had the water stops, etc. all planned out and it was a go with the BNSF. But somebody
on the SP/UP killed the move acount it would have operated over their lines between
San Jose & Richmond. Anyone shed any more light on this? Somewhere I still have the
published itinerary.
